Where are the fish? Archived Message Posted by Jase on 17/6/2012, 12:27 pm Have spoken to a few people this morning who all say the fish have now moved out past 50m after the recent spate of southerly winds. Even the "guru's" up here are saying that. One of my work mates went out in his dingy up to 15m and got only one fish to 34cm. I recently tried something different and found a tentative bite could still get results by removing the prongs on my break out sinker. Today I intend to stray line in shallow water only 5m deep with no berley. I've caught fish there before, albeit only up to 35cm. This time of year anything could show, but there isn't much in the way of current or tide movement today, so my idea is use fluorocarbon, light line and 3/0 and 4/0 recurve hooks on small baits. Will report back and see if this idea works. I might bomb out, but I'm going to try. Its been 2 weeks since I've been out and I need to get out and have a look.
