Daiwa reels and and rods go very well with very few issues and you dont have to buy the best to get gear hat lasts more then just one season.
Once you have returned from a trip tighten up the drag on the reel and give it a wash down to remove any sand and salt. Once it has dried off give it a good coat of tackle guard or inox to drive out any remaining water and stop any rust .Then release the tension off the drag. After that a service once a year or so ( usage dependant )
The Guides on the rods should be treated the same way.
