I'm just starting to get into surfcasting and am trying to understand beaches and where the fish hold. Here is a picture of Whatipu, up here in Auckland, with some marks I've made on it and a grid to show scale. The pic is pretty much low tide and is a couple of years old now so the beach will have changed
Am I right in assuming the fish will enter the via the yellow arrow indicated areas and cruise the green arrow channels?
Is it more productive to fish the entry areas or the channels?
I'll be doing a dawn raid here on Sunday, targetting gurnards between the bottom yellow arrow and the right hand side of the picture over the low and may try further along the beach at mid tide, depending on how well Mr 6yrs holds up
