    Hi Edit, you may want to try the Manukau Harbour for some Gurnard. We fish the Southern side, Wattle bay etc and have been getting reasonable catches. In my opinion the harbour is a bit more consistent at this time of year, I find the coast is at its best late summer & Autum. This year we had some killer days Late February through to April at Hamiltons Gap on the West Coast, just South of the Harbour entrance.
