The 21 lber was caught during a Lions Club red cod contest at the fishing wharves up the Wanganui River. It was featured in the paper on Monday.It was one of several it seems caught over the last few weeks. The guys at Hunting and Fishing knew of at least three others all of big size. All caught landbased and akll caught in the river. I looked at the water as I crossed the bridge out of town it was like porridge in colour and almost in consistancy. There must be some attraction there though to get fish like that up the river.
