For those who are keen a group of us are having a practice distance casting day this Sunday at the end of Lake View Drive Foxton Beach . We are meeting at Tackle Tactics at 10am . All are welcome get yourself and gear sorted for the start of the season.

Pania Fiels weekend No.1, better fish it.The snapper don't know where the car park is! Sometimes it is better to travel than to arrive.

We had a great day casting today . We were trying a new casting feild, I had arranged to use the feild early last week. I went down and had a look to check out where the live stock was ,they were well out of the way , all was good. You guessed it, the stock had been shifted to our casting feild, so there we were standing on one side of the electric fence being stared at from other side of the fence by some horny woolly creatures. We thought about going to another venue but decided to have ago at shifting these beasts, there must have fifty of them or maybe twenty. So we sent Jock and Karly(who is not just a townie girl) to push them into a corner and it worked, a nice beast free feild . I suppose you would like to know how the casting went. As we weren't having longest blast day no records were broken. What we did was have technic and gear testing day with I believe good results. I setup a reel for next week and amused everyone learning to pendulum cast . We all cast 100gm leads with great results, everyone should try casting these lighter weights you maybe surprised at the distances you will get.
