Sole while surfcasting!

Hi all, don't often get on here but I thought I'll let the you guys know. I caught this sole of Pikowai BOP coast, left of motorcamp last Wednesday night. Just before change of light. Anyone else caught sole while surfcasting. It weighed in at 4.4lbs. Caught a couple of snapper pannies, nothing to rave about, as well and a gurnard.

That aint no sole mate. Thats a Turbot mate. Fantastic catch. Ive caught a few sole while surfcasting using craytail as bait . Fantastic eating them turbots. One that size is easier to fillet. Check out a Collins guide to New Zealand Fishes. Well done.

Thanks, never heard of it. That exactly what it is. I checked it out. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Zealand_turbot
It was good eating. Didn't fillet it. Scored the top like a checker board and baked it off.
