Kingfish time

Good to see that the annual kingfish run has started in Hawkes Bay. I also note that the early fish are all over minimum size (75cms).

The snapper don't know where the car park is!
Sometimes it is better to travel than to arrive.

I know of a few caught over there monday has there been others?

any more info on where and what are they taking as for bait or live baits etc

Got one on a pilchard and 1 on a livie so far. Same methods and spots as always will produce.

Anywhere with clean water. Livebait (slidebaiting) is a good approach but they will take pilchards too.
North and south of Napier last week.

Naki-Fisher, 1 on the 2/11 and another on the 24/11 both locally here in the Bay

Cheers mate the 24th was in the green on the calendar and a few had been sighted through the day but not on the bite, was yours caught late arvo by any chance? The 2nd i had nothing so a new bit of data for the calendar cheers again.

Yea both were caught between 5 and 7pm

There is allot of kingfish around, I've had some wicked action over the past week, pretty amazing start to the season, January and later this month is just going to be amazing.

Caught almost more kingfish in a week, than I have gurnard this new season lol.
