has anyone fished the mohaka recently with any success.

A lot of rays and kahawai around mate, throw in a few small tope also and your away hahaha. Fishing has not been flash here, further north has been good

Just returned home from after new years day and over night lot of kahawai and few good leamon at night no snapper or gurnard sea dead flat today nice and clean.

Few Kingis about if you can get past the kahawai that keep scoffn ya live baits. Odd Moki too. Fished Whakaki sunday nite monday for a very slow hard session. Had a burst of Gurnard monday morning which was a surprise 10 in the chilly and a coupla snaps, but what bewildered me was mint tides lite change and not a sausage, just a flurry of big fat Kahawai and one lone Snap at 10 both nites. Mid summer spawning perhaps?. Good to get away from the crazy ness at the shop, man theres some tackle flying out the door

Christmas to New Year has never been a great time of year for beach fishing in HB. Even back in the sixties that was the case—yes, I'm that old. Sadly, most people have their holiday at the beach at exactly the wrong time for beach fishing. Roll on February.

I just went out to have a look at totos and there was a decent easterly roll coming in. Intentions of catching and running live baits were dashed, so i went home and had a couple of the said above

Mark i got a bin a snapper that beg to differ with you.

Flat at blacks, best fishing into dark. Plenty around, just very patchy, but when its on, its on.

Most boaties have been getting bugger all though.

Yeah had a flick in the picket-fence of rods at Awatoto yesterday arvo - only managed to catch one small livey in 2 hours. No takers. Too dirty and rough I guess.
