Hows the BOP fishing?

heading up later this mth for a week or so. Would be shame not to bring a rod or three along

Gidday Neil, The BoP isn't fishing very well at all, at least not from about Pikowai north. Papamoa has been plagued by sea lettuce for some weeks and even long-liners are not getting anything. I got a report a few days ago that down Pikowai way they are only getting sharks. Traditionally fishing starts to get underway here mid February so we can only keep our fingers crossed. Hope this helps and that you do have some luck.

Got out friday night and managed a 40cm Snapper and a 4kg lemonfish. Lemons new exactly where to got to knock you off and ended up 3 times pulling in a lorry load of green snot.
You can cast over the lettuce but landing a fish through it is not so easy.
