Nearly my first King off the beach

Took an ex-Hawkes Bay fisherman to a spot he had never been to before to chase some Kings. Although he had fished the bays beaches for many years, he had never managed a king off the beach. After getting a couple of tiny livies out, I had suggested we spin for a Kahawai livie. Jammy buggar that he is, he cut out the middle man and snagged a king on the hex wobbler.
A good test of his fishing skills ensued as he only had it on 15 lb line. The rod always had a nice bend in it, and he slowly won the battle. Not a monster at 15 lb and 82cm, but still every bit as beautiful as a kegger.
So I'm still yet to get my own King off the beach, but I was still doing the fist pump watching Chris's effort.

Shot Chris! They sit hard on the mouth edge in the shore dump there. Try catching ya liveys in the river behind you, some good big yemmys in there. Sabiki flies the ticket.
