Has anyone seen or caught a salmon around or in the vicinity of any Hawkes Bay rivers?

The snapper don't know where the car park is!
Sometimes it is better to travel than to arrive.

The nearest I can come to a local river, I got one at Hastings Pack and Save last Christmas ... Smoked it.

It cost a fortune and that was deadly serious, especially when you're on a pension!!!

My freinds Thai wife pull two out of the Ngaruroro river just down from my place last sunday. He took them to fish and game and comfirmed that they are salmon. They are in his freezer for you to see on Friday Gary.

Well somebody has got to ask. Was the Thai lady fishing or did she find them landlocked because of the rivers very low condition. If she was fishing, were they taken on fly or spinner?

If salmon are genuinely running in Hawke's Bay waters, it will be a tremendous boost to the local tourism industry.

Dont think so Rex but you never know what Fish and Game might be trying. There have been substantial numbers released in the Mohaka. That was quite a few years ago though.
