Middle Ground

Today was a good day forTelecom . After spending about 3 hours on the phone discussing you guessed it Distance Casting.
The consensus seems to be one group using and running the UKSF/ NZACA rules possibly dropping the NZACA content and a NZACA clubman group .
The idea at this stage is to run them at the same event and clubman casters can move up to the UKSF group as long as they comply.
Have a chew over this idea and have your say.

At no stage has this formula been discussed with the NZACA CASTING CO-ORDINATOR so at this stage ignore it.

We could say the same Jock ,the so called modified rules came like bolt from the blue.
At least we are discussing this idea in the open and as it is OUR organisation, so lets see if we can come to a compromise .

As i have said i have listened too all members.I will be reviewing the modified rules after the 2014 Nationals.I hope everyone will back my jugdment for this year.Thank you all out there for the support you have given me as the NZACZ CASTING CO-ORDINATOR for modifying the casting rules in the last few days,you all do count.

As a you could say i am a fairly involved caster and immediate past sponsor , owner of high profile Surfcasting bias tackle shop , owner of this forum and I thought mate of yours I can't remember being asked. Nor have the distance casters or others that have spoken to me about this radical change.
A question how many more casters do you expect have over the number you could lose.
It seems strange to me that you strive to have the best fisherman but you denigrate distance casting to something to have a go at . Members are not forced to cast at the Nats as you are not forced to fish.

As I said in my first posting we are looking for middle ground .I accept that Jock believes he is doing the correct thing by catering for the masses but myself and others want to test ourselves and push each other to reach the massive distances achieved overseas .
We do not and never excluded anyone wanting to have a go. We as a group often loan fellow casters rods and reels if they are having problems or just want have cast with different gear.
Running of casting days the UKSF casters would look after ourselves and should not inhibit the clubman/ social casters.
Remember we are looking for MIDDLE GROUND please have your say.

hi all, this may be of interest jock and others.taken from the secretarial jottings dated january 2012 and refers to the conference held in december.(it was obvious from the conference that casting is going to play a major part in our on going activites and that we are able to "adapt" to meet the "different aspects" that this worldwide sport will bring.there is to be "ongoing discussion" on where we fit in the world scene and" what rules we should be using" so as we can "compete internationally").then goes on with to talk of a international casting event with our ozzie mates.i do not see this happenning.again i ask why?

Excuse me,When and Where Are the 2014 Nationals ?? I have a few off shore trips planned for that year so it would be appreciated to know the dates etc so I can plan around them.Thankyou.
