Eides Surfcasting Competition ( may have new name this year) will be held as usual at South Beach Wanganui on February 23rd 2014.

The snapper don't know where the car park is!
Sometimes it is better to travel than to arrive.

When I travel and burn fuel, catching fish, or at least having that chance does matter. Hawke's Bay provides ample opportunities to soak up the sun while catching nothing. I can walk to Haumoana Beach for that at no cost

.

Below is what it's all about. Standing on a crowded beach catching nothing, sitting through a spot prize session, then driving home with an empty chilly bin does nothing for me.

Note the wonderful absence of other people in the first photo
