8kg Caught lastnite late, north of Napier Surfcasting re joined club member. They just keep on coming.

Fished through the day at North Shore Rd. Put the long line out as well.. No luck baits on rods coming back untouched. the water has sturred up a little since the weekend. Will see what gets dragged out this weekend.

Fishing through the day is not usually productive
Try fishing at dawn or dusk, even into the night.
(not that you should take any notice of me, considering my record

Spent the last 2 days at mohaka, 3 gurnard, pan snapper and kahawai the yesterday, then nothing today... Kontiki owner just up from me got a 5Kg snapper today though

Thats not mentioning the fish that bite so hard it pulled the rod stand out of the beach and started dragging my rod into the water.

Bugga Andy. Still sounds like you got a few up there which is good. Mysterious Mohake. I heard a lot of were fish caught up there during a northerly and when it went south west so did the fishing. Dunno if it was your experience?

The same as you described Rex, clean water and a northwester yesterday and plenty of fish, woke up this morning to dirty water in close and a sou'wester which eventually changed back to the north, but by that time all the fish had been pushed further out to sea apart from the odd lemon.

The heavieast snapper I heard of last weekend was caught on a longline at Waikare Beach. It was one of three big ones caught there by Crafties grandson Jade. The three fish weighed 30, 27 and 17lb.

Whoa big fish Gary. I don't think anyones written it off yet. They seem to just keep on popping up. Its been quite a good season for them by sounds of it.
