Giant trevally in HB

My spy on the water at North Shore Rd north of Napier witnessed the catching of a huge trevally on a surfcasting rod by a chap waiting for fish to get on his long line. He also caught a good sized kahawai on the rod before pulling in his longline to find no fish on it!

The snapper don't know where the car park is!

Would that be a very large ordinary trevally or a proper GT with teeth?

I was thinking a GT would be considered somewhat lost if it was on our east coast

. Most seem to be in the 1.5 to 3kg bracket here in HB Logan. Still a great lil scrap to be had. A lot of Kingfish being hooked all over had a few customers in today telling me of tussels theyve had. Try get out tomorrow morning.
