Snapper down south

There has been a report of a snapper being caught at Porangahau recently. On a rod too. Chasing details. John you could let us know more if you see this.

The snapper don't know where the car park is!
Sometimes it is better to travel than to arrive.

Hi Gary. Porongahau contest only managed 3 snapper from reports I've had. 2.5 kilo. 5 gone in my fridge, all 2k off shore tho, I'm sure you have a fair idea where. Don't wreck the car park. Ha ha.

Kairakau boat fishos are getting snaps in the 2-4kg range as well.

I hear Gurnard are being caught off Southern beaches as well. Not down as far as Porongahau that I've heard but not too far away from there either.

No good down here this weekend, crazy wind and big southerly sea. Te Awanga sounds like a comfy spot. I would like to join Pania sometime. Is it just a case of getting to a meeting or is there a club day sometime where I can catch a few frantic fishos? Death to all crabs!

It's a pania field weekend this weekend Fringsy, weigh in at the napier fire station 12pm Sunday, come along. Or failing that the 1st Wednesday at 7.30pm each month at the fire station social room.
