Hi all going camping at Matata soon. What's the best tide to fish high or low? and also what bait to use that could possibly catch a fish.If possible would like a bait that does not require freezing was thinking about salted mullet but someone may know of something better.
Change of tide High or low. Certainly darkness or light changes will fish better. You will catch during the day depending on target species, I've found it fishes better with a meter of breaking swell during the day for Snaps, but Kahawai and kingfish, trevally you can catch in most sea conditions. Best baits Pilchards,Anchovies,Mullet, but i have caught well on fresh Kahawai for bait, especially on Gurnards after dark, also Snaps. Have a set of bait flies, or a couple of chrome Kahawai spinners to keep you in a bait supply. Heading thru next weekend, hopefully the weather doesn't rain on the parade.
