I'm a lifelong surfcaster, but a novice competition enterer. I need advice. If I fish through the night and catch something at 1.00am, do I just go through the usual methods of keeping fresh till weigh in at 5.00pm or do comp. winners only catch their fish nearer the time. Looking at Beach and Boat Comp. in Late Feb. Help please.

Most beach comps will have people picking up fish as they are caught. Overnighters will have directions on what to do with your fish. Dont go near a chilly bin if patrols are picking up fish. All contests are different so check with ticket sellers or organisers before fishing. The snapper don't know where the car park is! Sometimes it is better to travel than to arrive.
