As above temped to go for a late one, currently waiting for a curry then off home to eat it. Weather has settled down abit and water looks good down the beach.....

430pm and 930-1030pm nothing huge Snaps 37cms up to 52cm. Out of town and before the comp today, when the sea turned to sh!t

fished whakaki 2hrs, sunday evening for 2 over size herrings, till the rain came and ruined everything lol, was looking promising for incoming tide with a nice sea till the weather bomb, the kontiki next to us got zip though????
I feel the bay might be on the lean side atm!

ive lost enough brain cells, that now they are at a manageable level!

Thats the way up there. The fish seem to be in certain areas only on those beaches. I've fished entire weekends in various spots up there and never really 'found the fish'
Its not enough to just turn up at Whakaki, Tahaenui, Blacks, the cut etc and cast your lines.. You have to find out where along those beaches the fish are. Thats the hard bit.

gotta agree ^^, was still rather surprized tho, but no surprizes to see two trawlers working in rather close either,i don't blame that soley for the lack of fish but surely it helps with the lack of.. fish do move around and a well fished spot with a lot of traffic didn't help either, still a great evening out with my 2 nephews and brother,

is there public access anywhere more south of whakaki? not private type gotta get permission access?? I have google earth and have been doing research, but a heads up as to what the locals! are like would be handy..
