Hey guys
anyone using Shimano Big Baitrunner LONGCAST reel Im looking for a rod to match it with was thinks of a Shimano Status Surfcasting Rod 14ft 6in 10-15kg 3pc any thoughts

Hi Carl , we were out testing the new CD XD surf both 13' 14' . I was casting a 5oz Scud and I must say they are both awesome for the very reasonable price of $299 . There wasn't much difference in distance between the two. Both rods have excellent tip recovery and I think they could be a little lighter than the original XDs

ive got one on my back bone elite and works well.. I think the status is what replaced the back bone

The CD rod is head and shoulders better than any of the Shimano offerings.

I agree Phill. Best rod for dollars in the 2 to 350 dollar bracket. In any bracket i mite add. Sections fit properly, and shrink wrapt top and bottom grips. Sold a couple already!. Matched with a BIG BTR NICE KIT

. I own a couple of big Baitrunners, NEW MODELS fautless. Shimano are known more for there reel offerings rather than there rods I'm afraid.
