Where to try Napier

Hi i'm coming down to Napier on 05/02 heading home on 10/02 just wanting to know if any spots to try. The only place I've tried before down here is in front of the beakons near the airport. What rigs are the best to use and baits to use. I'm happy with what ever I can catch just wanting a feed. If anyone is keen to join me and show me some places to try I'm happy to meet up. Best bets would be a Kahawai at one of the river mouths. Posiblity of a lemon or two if you have crab/prawn for bait.

Anyone catching anything up whirinaki at moment or any snapper around anywhere??

Was plagued by undersized snapper at Tangoio last night, must be a few bigger specimens there at the moment though as I had one semi decent rod bender.
I also managed a 35cm snap from there Saturday morning

Andy is that where the road starts to head away from the coast again at the end of the long straight?
Was looking to go at the end of the houses just past the mill in the morning..
Have never fished Tangoio and not sure where to go

Take the turnoff to Waipatiki, past the whirinaki straight about 3 kms. Turn right into Tangoio road, then follow it to the beach. From there it's up to you where to fish.
