Pania Field Weekend One.

I guess that the overall total of fish makes day one a success. It didnt seem like it on the beaches though where a few barracouta, less numbers of kahawai and one gurnard was all that could be caught. Rods bent at some beaches but it was spiney dogfish, hoards of them and none over a metre and big enough to weigh in.

Next one falls on Labour Weekend so guess that will be postponed when the club captain realises. If not it may be the big snapper comp of the year for the club. Some big moochers will be about at places like Mohaka, Whakaki, Blacks and Mahanga Beaches.
Lets hope for good weather this time

Yep next one then Andy. Mite actually be able to fish a whole day instead of doing an evening session. Not sure about the labour weekend thing either. Easter was cancelled, so presume this one will be re housed elsewhere?. Good to see a great turnout at weighing tho. Fringsy you must travelled the most MILES mate. Porangahau to Blacks

Wanted to go to Blacks, but decided to stay local. Blackhead, Phau. Hard work, bad weather and sea. Gate locked at the wreck, damn! Might be that way for a while, cocky-council politics I think. Will be Blacks way next field weekend I hope.

Sorry i was told you went up nth aswell. Yeah in a few weeks it might be worth venturing north. Certainly not at the moment. Spineys are still everywhere even caught a few at west shore last night.

I cant really be too explicit. A Mr. Dotcom has leaked some sensitive info to a friend of my partners workmate. No, I'm kidding ya. The land owner IS having issues with the council. This is all that I have been told. Nothing else should be discussed here, sorry. Don't know if or when it will be opened, soon I hope. I will let you know as soon as it opens. I travel that way most weekends.

The opening field day was advertised on this site. Would it not be a good idea to now publish the full results. Who won, the weight and the species in the winning bag and that of the runner up. Where the fish were caught - locally on Napier beaches, or on beaches well away from the city.

I'm sure I am not the only regular on this site who would like to see a proper report on what the Pania members caught. You never know such a summation may even encourage other anglers to join the Pania club.

Just a thought.

Ah ha there building a military base to protect us from the invading germans there. Should have guessed. Now theres 6 eyes instead of just 5. Anyway thx for the info as I probably would have gone there sooner or later and I will save myself the trip now. Just have try other spots when the westerlies come.
