Spiney backs

Just saw a powered longline full of spiney back dogfish come ashore out bayview. Thats all they had and they were small and there were plenty of them.
Still a week or two to go locally I reckon.

The snapper don't know where the car park is!
Sometimes it is better to travel than to arrive.

yup that's bout right at the mo , shot up to mohuka last Sunday for a fish and put long line out . ended up wit 9 spinys . 2 Lennons 2 kawi and a 40kg plus tope. . .. . . ..really not that much fun pulling sharks in. .or most better leaving torpedo at home . hope the water starts warming up and the weather starts playing ball.

I fished ..... Yes Gary East Clive. yesterday avo. Started with a plague of tope, then a plague of spineys, then coudas, then kahawai and then more spineys. Only consolation was that the kahawai were in amazing condition and there were an army of trawlers out there who I hope were also getting bucket loads of spineys. Perhaps a few spikes got in there nasty greedy fishy fingers. I hope so......

Saturday I went down for a morning fish before the magpies game and coudas were recking havoc did see a large ky work up with a small boat following I guess targeting kingies

Well I hope they were as fat and as beautifully conditioned as the couple I landed. Only kept one as that was all I needed but man it was a beauty.
