Veritas LR surf Rods put to test

The Veritas rods were used today in the Pania Surfcasting Clubs Postal Casting event. Several contenders used the Veritas Surf with Low Rider guides (LR) and they performed well.
The longest cast today with a Veritas rod was by Hamish (the Fireman) with a cast of 175m.
While we didnt have a big turnout we did have a lot of fun and a great day in the Hawkes Bay sunshine.

The snapper don't know where the car park is!
Sometimes it is better to travel than to arrive.

4oz I think. Thats what I had on.

Hi guys, Iv done a lot of rock fishing and am getting into surf casting, I am deciding on either the veritas14ft or Penn prevail 14ft. What would be the best rod to get?

Hi stefan, both rods are good, both have anti-tangle guides. The Prevail has K-guides were as the Veritas has lowrider guides. My personal preference is the Varitas. I base this on several things, lowrider guides,able to be used with a freespool reel or fixed spool and the butt length suits me better.
The butt length on the Prevail I find a bit short for me and the rod is a fraction heavier than the Veritas.
Both of these rods are good fishing rods for under $300. Tackle Tactics have both in stock, feel free to give me a call if you need any more information, Phill.
