Ok so I was in the warehouse today trying to figure out what the hell to buy with the $30 gift card I was given for my birthday. Well there is not a hell of alot you can get for $30 these days, so I grabbed a pair of summer weight track pants for work so that was $17 gone, could not make up my mind on which CD to buy to make up the difference, so i buggered off to the tackle department for a gander there and found myself in Penn heaven here I was looking at some of the combos and having a fondle of the Penn sargus reels that were attached to them, then there it was a 9 foot 2 piece medium action penn spinfisher rod I just had to have it. So while I had a rod & reel combo in one hand the 2 piece rod in the other and a penn slammer rod leaning against my shoulder and a reel under my arm while I was trying to make up my mind the missus walked around the corner and loudly said you haven't got enough for any of that stuff so I proudly replied that is what layby is for plus you could use it to cast spinners when we go fishing that's when she got all keen so mind made up went to counter with the 2 piece rod and a penn sargus 8000 to go with it, will be picking it up in a couple of weeks little does she know the sargus is going on one of my fin nor surf rods and she will be getting "the cursed reel" (shimano aerlex 8000) which has never produced a fish for me to use :D
All sounds perfectly natural to me. Should your good lady ask what happened to the Penn, I suggest you tell her it ran out of ink. This works every time.
