Anyone know how to rig a VMC Carolina Special hook. They're designed for soft baits, but I think they'd look great on a small pilchard or anchovie. Got a funny bend at the tying end and a snell knot sits nicely. Bought them in Aus a few years ago.

Not sure if this video will help you. I can certainly see the merit of using the hook with plastic but with fresh bait it could present a problem when casting from the shore, unless you are using something really tough like squid strips or octopus.
Should work extremely well from a boat and could be deadly with a little current running.
I hope this helps, the rig used here looks reasonably simple to tie.
