Saturday night snapper

During a hour long bite that stopped dead when the moon came up Sue managed to catch a nice Hawkes Bay snapper. Kahawai and lemonfish kept us busy.

solitude and nice conditions.

Thats Napier in the rainy distance. It missed us but thunder and lightening lit the skies.

A nice surprise amongst the lemonfish and kahawai we were catching.

The snapper don't know where the car park is!
Sometimes it is better to travel than to arrive.

Nothing quite as exciting as taking a firm grip of yer carbon fibre rod as an electrical storm passes overhead is there?

What were you catching the lemons on? The mystery pot bait Im guessing? I was amazed to hook two during the day on kahawai of all things. No shortage of them even if the snaps were rather reticent. Same with the kahawai as well, bloody cannibals.

Lemons were all on cray tail. Kahawai on anchovies. snapper on cray.
