where can I fish around tauranga these days

staying here in tauranga for a few months on a job assignment at the te puke quarry I am itching for a fish but all my old spots for around the harbour are no fishing areas these days I want to get out tomorrow morning and as last resort I may just go down the beach from my grand dads old house at the end of beach road or head out from our old house to simpsons reserve I believe it is now called.

I've been having some luck at Papamoa Beach. Going onto the beach at the last access way and walking down the beach a couple of hundred meters past the last house. Generally having more luck in the evening using Squid for bait.

Sea looks a little rough tonight but may settle by tomorrow.

going to head out for an early morning fish and catch the 4am low tide as there is meant to be a very good bite time then failing that it will be an evening fish

Went out for a try this morning even though I had missed the bite time so going out for another try this afternoon to catch the next major bite time. BobB if you are down there this afternoon too feel free to stop and say gidday will be parked down karewa parade my wagon has an NZHS sticker on the rear window
