Where do you find baby John Dory?

This is not a joke. What is the smallest you have seen?

Good question, I think? I've never seen a small one, and it had never occurred to me till now. Perhaps baby sprats turn into big JD's Do you think they maybe develop the spot as they get older? or perhaps they live in caves till they get a particular size. What about divers, have you ever seen one?

Auckland fish market had some .270mm to .300mm JD there last week.
