I haven't been out for a few weeks. The Kontiki boys have only started to catch a few snapper again in the last week so will give it a go again shortly. Any KY that have been caught are full of Whitebait

Interesting, I was on papamoa last week, never got a touch and was going to try again tomorrow. I've been reading a bit about soft bait in the surf, I wonder if I can get something that looks like a whitebait?

We just had our WBSC August club fish last weekend. No fish were harmed, by anyone. Old story...when the moon is in the sky by day, the fish stay away!! Anglers with half a clue should do too!

This suggests that fish have more clues than anglers. Something I've come to accept over the years, and learnt to accept. It makes fishing a challenge and an achievement.

Hey Druid and BobB the fish are back in along pap beaches at the moment and should be till round the end of October. Some nice snapper have been caught along the pap east end(in front of the houses) in the last week. This weather won't help this much. If you travel a bit further there has been some good catches round the Matata domain end.

Yes - I took the dog for a walk yesterday and noticed a few snapper bodies on the beach. Will be out as soon as this weather clears and the sea settles a little.
Druid there is a competition this Saturday. Go to the Wish 4 Fish Site.

Noticed that Bob, what puts me off is that the weigh in, functions etc, are in a pub over at Greerton.

Whats wrong with a pub in Greerton lol. Looks like the comp is going to help a good cause. Hope it goes well for the organisers
