Pania Field weekend next wekend

Bad call as beaches may be busy and some angler caught up with other responsibilities, but it is on.
Where are you headed? I am seriously thinking of heading south of the cape. Particularly if the westerly trending winds keep up.

It's a bad call having a field weekend on a long weekend / public holiday... people have other commitments. I'll find a quiet beach somewhere

It doesn't matter to me what weekend its on. I have to work both Friday and Saturday of labour weekend and pretty much the rest of the Saturdays over summer

This season I will fish when I can, and if that should coincide with a field weekend so be it..

I'm still going to head south to the reefs when seas and tides are right. Lots of weird reef dwellers to grace the scales

Its about a 5km walk to that spot. I've fished it before but never tried specialising with burley and shellfish baits etc.
Got to be good for Wrasse, Moki?, Butterfish?, Parore?
Its as snaggy as hell with no clear bottom so sacrificial terminal tackle might be needed

You will just need a pkt of hooks and sack to bring them back in.
Prediction.......Bandded Wrasse, Hiwihiwi, moki,
parore if you berley, maybe a snapper (big) and a few kahawai. Throw in a good sized trevally if you are having a good day.

Ill be south a bit.

Know where that is racepics. The walk is a bit trickier now, lot more debris has dropped from the hill but still accessible. I,ll be south too.
