Fished Porangahau contest the other day. Our first (usually the best) spot didnt produce so we shifted a couple of kms up the beach. My first cast was only in the water a few minutes when the rod went over. The weight was good, the fight was strong and there was plenty of spashing before I landed not one but two kahawai. 41 and 44 cms. Pity is wasnt one 85cms. The snapper don't know where the car park is! Sometimes it is better to travel than to arrive.
