O/H reels for casting.

I am about to reline my Penn Squall 15 for casting rather than fishing. Whats the best line, under NZ rules.

Yes I am going to try and learn how to cast again!

I'm told kontiki line is excellent for not birdsnesting, but apparently you don't get much on your spool.

Provided it's not really cheap wiry stuff, line quality is not so critical, but you should wet and stretch a line before casting in anger.

Suffix it is, what diameter. I will be casting 125 and 150 leads.

Neil, any future in casting high mount with o/h reels. The casting I have done with them has been fishing and always high mount. Your thoughts?

Personal preference really mate.

High mount is fine just the balance of the rod is different with the reel up there which can be a issue when you are really loading the butt up but unless are bending it a lot it will make sod all difference

I think it will fit the penn 15
What line did you have a Rotorua it was the best diameter compliant line (for 150 gm .031 mm ) that wasn't heaps oversize

Do I really need that. My Penn 15 has an adjustable mag drag which works well.
