Nationals

Anyone heard anything from the far north?

The snapper don't know where the car park is!

Heard that only 49 turned up this year. 11 from Pania, 13 from Fielding, 1 from Gissy and the rest from up north.

Looking forward to results.

I heard conditions were ok! Yoey said the sea was about 2m on Ninety mile. I'm gutted I couldn't make it in the end. They'll be having a great time. Still I did get a consolation prize last night which cheered me up a bit.

Yeah. I sprinted down to the lotto shop straight after. First one I've caught since 2014 if my memory serves me correctly. And off a Napier beach too. Pity about the toxic shellfish ban. But I'm still alive to tell the tale so the fish were safe to eat..... Tasted mighty fine too ... in batter.

Catching any fish off Napiers beaches is exciting these days. But I see Yoey has posted the weather was great, the fishing unbelievable up North so it sounds like those who made it had a memorable week. Lucky them. No doubt some good stories to come.

Fishing was fantastic, only got a couple of Trevally myself but some truly awesome fish came across the scales. Kane Wrigglesworth taking out the Top Individual angler. I had the privilege to fish next to him at Te Paki Stream and he is one angler on the top of his game. A well deserved reward. Feilding club took out overall club honours plus Dry casting, boat and Surfcasting section wins as well. We had 24 from the club participating, great to see the club get behind the event.
