Question,,,,,Should crabs, crayfish and octopus be eligible for weighins at a sport or surfcasting club when points towards national championships are at stake?

If points are allocated for fish catches only then no.
An Octopus is a cephalopod,a marine mollusk, not a fish. While crab and crayfish are both crustaceans again not fish. Personally I'd keep all there for bait.

Seems a bit silly to me. You target fish.... Do you target these species. No. They are bycatch, not caught by any skill. So for me the answer is No

Seaweed is harder to land!
Ive seen the photo of the octi, season's bait supply there.
