Daiwa do the same (just in different colours) and there are the excellent Breakaway systems will we see them here? I doubt it. There you go NZ companies here's a challenge you have a market bring some in. Remember there was a time when clipped down rigs were laughed at now they are standard use. What about tripods?

Daiwa actually make a very nice tripod rod rest but you cant get them here. Sixty quid in the UK including 20%vat Actually you can't get any tripod rod rests in NZ..

Both mine have come from Ian Golds parts that can be bought from Veals mail order. The angle and tubing was readily available here and 20 minutes with a power drill and you have a tripod.
