Pania Kahawai Competition 2017

As per the sign. Tickets now on sale at most HB tackle shops
$2000 cash and product first prize
$1000 product 2nd prize
Fifteen prizes in total so get in now before they sell out. Plenty of kahawai out there so its easy money for the right fisherman.
Fishing starts 8am

A "Kahawhai" would be a rare catch hence the prize/s, nothing for catching Kahawai.

Pffiffle You fella's need to get up to speed with the local Hawkes Bay dialects. Te Reo has many variations.

If your planning to fish the Pania Kahawai Comp tomorrow and haven't bought your ticket then it would pay to move. Over 400 of the 450 available have sold as of 12pm today. Tickets available in very limited numbers at Hunting & Fishing or Hamill's in Napier and at Crafty's in Hastings.
Should you miss out, there is also the Porangahau Comp on tomorrow as well. Best of luck to everyone participating.
