Seems the snapper have finally returned to the BOP beaches, last trip got 6 x 30-35cm snaps. Tonight 5 snapper to 3 kilos could have easily limited out but 5 is more than enough for us. Hope it continues !!

I might have to pop over to matata again for another crack at it, was out there for an over nighter at the doc camp over my xmas break with no success but camping at the DoC camp and the burgers and chips we had for dinner from Jaws takeaways was very enjoyable. but now that I have a portable gas bbq designed for use on a boat and a gas cooker I am a bit better equipped to cook a feed and have a fresh cup of tea/coffee.
Now that I said that the buggers will probably do the runner on me :D

Went for a a quick 2hr fish last night ended up with 2 snapper 40 & 45cm's, a Rig approx 8kg(released) and a couple of medium sized Kahawai for the smoker. Im not sure that Matata has picked up quite yet, i am northern BOP towards Coromandel.

The holiday season is not very good for BoP fishing. The fish know when all the kids go back to school and then they come out to play.... just like me! ***********************************************************************************
