Night fishing the Rock.

I got time off from work and the weather been great for the last week and high tide were just before midnight. Gear used Saga 14' rod and Penn Squall 15 reel - pulley rig-60lb trace 25lb leader-15lb main line-Hooks Ks 6/0 and 5/0-Bait pilchards cut in half and tied on .I caught two snapper around 9lbs and the last one went over 10lbs -Short tailed black ray 40lbs plus .

Nice looking area to fish got to love the penn squall 15 I use the same reel on my veritas. I am currently starting to gear back up to get back into some rock hopping myself first target is the rocks in Te Maika next weekend if my mate isn't working on the charter boat

Fished the Rock this morning - the sea was flat and no wind - was getting good casting distance with the squall 15 and 4oz Gemini -lost a big snapper it managed to crunch through my 60lb trace but ended up with a few of his younger brother's and four gurnard
