A mate of mine that I recently caught back up with who I have not seen for just over 20 years has convinced me to get back into rock hopping after I stopped 10 years ago when I left Whangarei, so my first kingi mission off the bricks is going to be Te Maika over at Kawhia harbour seeing my mate has access to a dinghy that we can whip across the harbour in. Any suggestions in rigging live baits up as I have never done live baiting before and will be just putting them under a balloon any advice is appreciated. Will be using those pre made black magic livebait rigs to get me started
The rod I got for livebaiting is a penn gt special 15-24kg stand up rod and Penn 340 GT2 combo spooled with 15kg mono which will also be used for those opportunities that I get to go out on charter boats.
For straylining/popper tossing I have a 7ft shakespeare ugly stik black tiger (got to love these rods I regret selling my old one) which will have my shimano baitrunner 6000 attached to it.
There is also a second veritas with the standard guides sitting in the rod rack next to the veritas Low Rider
Tackla aquisition syndrome has been bad over the last month or two and has not ended yet (when does it ever end )
