Turakina Beach

Hi guys,i was wondering if anyone here has any experience fishing Turakina Beach.Have been a couple of times with no luck but the place looks like it could fish quite well,especially at the river mouth.Any info would be greatly appreciated.Cheers.

Hi Scott,I fish Turakina beach all the time.I find I have better luck at night time with a incoming tide.You need to find a hole down the beach (south of river mouth)still catching snapper at the moment.

Cheers mate,whats the river mouth like for kahawai.My grandson is getting keen and wants to catch a kahawai,along with everything else mind you.lol

It's Ok at times worth a try, Tangimoana river mouth is better for KY if you don't mind the travel.
