Surfcasting accuracy

Having trouble with my accuracy, always have but its starting to bug me as im loosing distance.
Have tried to find you tube video's and articles on it but there isnt alot. Have tried different size rods. Doing shorter casts i get the odd 1 on the spot but generally its off to the right. Have been spending time casting in the paddock, standing correctly etc but no improvment. Could it be timing of release?
Any tips or you tube clips etc be a great help

If you are off the ground casting this video is very good

Depends on the cast you are doing but to general tips look up 45 degrees NOT out across the sea and start slow finish fast commonly caled hitting the rod.

I have been casting for 57 years and still have problems with both distance and accuracy, I guess some of us take a wee while to get this sorted?

The Brighton cast is another that works really well and is alot safer as the path of the lead is in a 180 degree straight line while others propel the lead in an arch outside the rod tip, and if notcontrolled or totally secure (shock leader and strong lead clip) could send the lead down the beach at approx 200km an hour!

Terry Carroll RIP was the man behind arguebly the best beach rods ever, Zziplex,arguebly as I use both Zziplex and Century.

For practical fishing the pendulum is not needed and unless people do not do the pendulum style well it is dangerous.

As with all videos there are those which are better than others, it a matter of sorting those which are better than others, hope they are useful.
John Holden is another very good instructor and has useful stuff on line.
