Has anyone had a problem with the mid-section of the rod loose in the ferrule of the the butt section? With the mid-section inserted as far as it will go into the butt-section, the connection is not sufficiently tight to prevent the two upper sections from turning out of alignment when in use. The top-section fits snugly into the mid-section with about 10mm of free top-section still showing. Is there anything that I can spray or paint onto the fitting to make it fight tighter without jamming into the fitting permanently?
Sounds to me like you've got a dud rod. It's not a problem limited to just Veritas rods tho. But nothing a wrap or two of electrical tape over the joint can't fix. It'll stop the sections from twisting and is easily removed. Cheap quick fix. The other way is to heat shrink your butt section... but that's not as simple as it sounds. Correct heating is critical. Stick with the tape option.***********************************************************************************
