Yes, I moved to Glasgow. One understands people within a very short space of time. I've seen this in court many times. There's a foreign witness who is completely indecipherable at first but once you pick up on the accent, you begin to understand them.

I don't think that English people are any easier to understand. It was slightly difficult there at first too.

By now, Scottish accents just sound normal to me. More than that, I really detest hearing English accents. You might hear an English person on the train or something. It's that faggoty clipped accent.

You know who else is a technical writer? Marlies VR also PennyRoyalTea. No, wait. What's a "tekstschrijver"..."copy writer". Yeah, must mean the same thing. She also does adminiatrative work at a theatre. And she was an editor.

Where did she go to university? This doesn't look too prestigious. Opened in the 1920s. And in the 60s there was a student takeover and they changed the name to Josef Stalin University or something. Yeah. No way is this a prestious university.

I think it was just her local university. Because all of her jobs are also in that town.

Where was I going with this? Oh, yeah. Not a terribly interesting job but whatever. We can't all be Playboy photographers. And Dutch looks very similar to English so that must be why these people tend to speak English so well.
