One time I said "cool beans" in a clearly sarcastic fashion. And she attacks me. "Cool beans? Who says cool beans? Nobody says cool beans."
She was attacking me because she didn't want people to think that I was representative of the uncool, unsophisticated Americans out there. Ironically, she just exposed herself as being a stupid American who doesn't understand the sarcastic humour so beloved in the UK.
It's like how I used to always say "The Land of Opportunity" in reference to the US and then some literal Texan called me out on it. "The US isn't the Land of Opportunity. You're ignorant. Where's the opporunity? There's probably more opportunity in the UK." So I said, "I was clearly being sarcastic" and she continued to attack me. "What sarcasm? I didn't see anything sarcastic about it. Don't try to lie and say you were being sarcastic now. You're ignorant". Then some British guy in the chat backed me up that I was clearly being sarcastic.
I'll tell you what else it reminds me of: Americans on the internet who call themselves "yanks" or refer to the US as "the States" when talking to British people. Fuck you. And fuck your anti-Trump rants.
"Oh, please accept me. I'm not like all of those uncool, unsophisticated Americans out there. I use the same dumb vernacular as you do and hate Trump just like you do. Can I be your mate now? That's what you blokes say, right? Mate? Cor blimey, this is hard work."
There are just so many dumbasses out there of all nationalities. I've always taken a balanced approach of the pros and cons of the US and the UK respectively.
But yeah, on the whole Americans in the US are giant obnoxious assholes. It's just a fact.
