Ive always had good results with Forte products. The Flush you mention does actually reduce emissions without doing anything else! (prior to and including an oil change/filter of course ) Always worth a try if your struggling in that area.
On the 'gunge' front - I recall that they always used to say be very careful when using it on the likes of the Escorts CVH which were notorious for gunging inside ( as we know) but they say use jusgement as to whether or not to even use it cos it can release the gunge etc and cuase other problems!! Again, worth remembering that point.
