Numero 2.. My belief on this situation hasnt changed.. I still feel , awkward as it is , that the guy is responsible for the work done..
he should have tried harder with the insurance company, not because of the work done, I dont believe that would come into it, but because he/anyone should never accept the first offer whatever.. if he'd bourne the 'situation' in mind ( which he probably didnt..) that he would have stuck out for more - to go toward your bill!
He's happy, he's got his money... what have you got. £300.or so out of pocket plus the rest on labour. He's not bothered....
Its now down to how you want to play it... solicitors will probably come into it... at least for advise on exactly how you stand...
Let us know how you get on.. I would nt walk away from it... but of course its up to you.
I would just bear in mind that whilst the situation isnt pleasant... you are the only one standing to lose out here... and I dont see why you should.
