I do not employ anyone but i can sympathize with your frustration I have been in the situation, say fitting a complicated cambelt or cylinder head, the phone has rang and i have been side tracked from that job, it is easy to forget that you were in the middle of tightening that tensioner......it then falls off a few weeks later (never happened to me) In a busy workshop where maximum concentration is sometimes needed, a mobile phone can be a serious distraction and may cost the employer at a later date if something is overlooked Perhaps the use of mobile phones should be written into health and safety law when used in workshop environment. The employer has the right to make sure phones are switched off during working hours I managed to survive the first 20 years in the workshop without a mobile.....so whats changed? Peter
