I read the article, it seems like the writer hasn't had much experience of fitting any modules to vehicles. The was no mention whatsoever on needing to code VIN numbers in, needing to accept a paticular tune state, or other options in the module.

I think the article missed the point, you can't get to diagnose a faulty module without the right kit, & if you are trying to attempt to fit a new module, & guess if it may or may not work, then it's not worth starting the job.
